Kate Spak has been a painter for over 20 years…most of that time “in the closet.” She spent her work life in restaurants, radio, and advertising. However, at heart she is an artist,—a painter, a chef, a master gardener, a knitter, a quilt maker, and an interior designer. Kate’s interests have always been in the pursuit of creative endeavors. Painting is her deepest creative love. She has studied with some of the most outstanding plein-air artists in the U.S., as well as several distinguished local teachers. In 2012 she had the wonderful experience of studying and painting in France. Kate is a student of Nicholas Wilton, of the Art2Life Academy in San Francisco, and a 5-year graduate of his Creative Visionary Program. Not only does she paint, but explores what makes artists great and why their work excites the spirit. She loves teaching people how to find the artist inside themselves with the belief that everyone can be an artist. She no longer paints “in the closet”.
Kate lives in Cincinnati, Ohio, in the eclectic neighborhood of Madisonville, with her screenwriter husband, Doug, and their three pugs.
